Treats and rewards
Choose treats for the right species and size, with ingredients you can check against your pet’s existing care instructions.
Keep dog and cat treats separate when building a shopping list. Check the package for the intended species, feeding directions and recommended portion. A product name or an appealing photo cannot tell you whether the treat fits your pet’s size or routine.
If your pet has known ingredient restrictions, compare the full ingredient list with the instructions in the care profile. Do not rely only on a flavor name or a front-label claim. Include the treat’s full name in shared instructions so a caregiver can identify the exact item.
For training, compare the size of each piece, pack weight and whether the package can be resealed. Treats complement the normal feeding routine; they should not replace a complete diet. Store them as directed and supervise your pet with chews or unfamiliar items.
